Currently in 14th place, Wolves will be hoping to take advantage of Tottenham's recent slump in form as Nuno's men naturally will want to try to finish out 2020 in the top half of the table. The hosts will next face Manchester United following this match, and given that the Red Devils have been on a kick lately, Wolves will obviously want to head into their final game of 2020 off the back of some good form.
Wolves were initially full of confidence following a hard-fought 2-1 win over Chelsea, but any joy that they felt was short-lived as Burnley beat them by exactly the same scoreline about a week later. A lack of consistent results has really hampered Nuno's side from climbing the table, as they have won the same number of games that they have lost (six). Indeed, this is exemplified by what took place over the past two rounds: a crucial win over Chelsea followed by a frustrating loss to Burnley, and they come into this game having lost three of their last five games.
Meanwhile, Spurs, who were once on a very strong run, have now lost two in a row and have slid from topping the table to down into sixth place. Jose Mourinho will be desperately hoping to avoid matching a rather unwanted record - losing three games in a row for the first time since 2012 - and moreover, he has yet to lose three consecutive away fixtures since taking over as manager. Although Spurs have won their last three away fixtures against their upcoming opponents, they are nonetheless winless in their last three away matches (D2 L1). That being said, Spurs have been quite solid in their travels, with just one loss on the road.
With their final game being a relegation-threatened Fulham, the visitors will naturally want to ensure they don't stumble again here, but picking up all three points may be much easier said than done. Wolves did beat Spurs 3-2 in London, and will be fired up as they have the potential to defeat their opponents in consecutive matches for the first time in over a decade. Both teams will be eager to get back to winning ways after suffering losses in their respective fixtures. Which side will come out on top?
Wolves: Both Jonny and Raul Jimenez are out for the long haul, with the latter having to recover following surgery to fix a skull fracture. In addition, Leander Dendoncker may also miss this tie after being injured during Wolves' shock win against Chelsea.
Spurs: Giovani Lo Celso is a definite absentee after suffering a hamstring injury during the team's defeat to Leicester. Meanwhile, Gareth Bale will have to be evaluated before the upcoming match after seemingly pulling a muscle in his calf while featuring in the League Cup quarter-finals against Stoke.
