Los Blaugranas earned a bit over six more millions than Liverpool even after being eliminated by the Reds.

Surprisingly, the winner of the UEFA Champions League was not the top money earner in the 2018-19 season.

That honor belongs to Barcelona, who became the team with the most money earned in the previous edition of the world's most followed club competition, despite being eliminated by Liverpool in their semi-final tie.

Earlier today, UEFA published the amount of money earned by each team in the tournament won by Liverpool almost one year ago, and surprisingly, Barcelona topped Liverpool's prize money by six million euros ($6.6M).

Los Blaugranas managed to top that list thanks to their €117M haul. Liverpool "only" earned €111M, mainly because their historic club coefficient is not as high as Barcelona's.

The third and last team to earn over €100M was Tottenham, who earned €101M. Juventus managed to finish four despite being eliminated by Ajax in the Quarterfinals, while also becoming the only Italian team to make the top ten.

All in all, UEFA handed out almost €2,000M in cash prizes. Here are the top ten earners from the 2018-19 UEFA Champions League.

1. Barcelona - €117M ($130M).

2. Liverpool - €111M ($123M).

3. Tottenham - €101M ($112M).

4. Juventus - €95M ($105M).

5. Manchester United - €93M ($103M).

6. Manchester City - €93M ($103M).

7. PSG - €85M  ($94.5M).

8. Atlético Madrid - €85M ($94.5M).

9. Real Madrid - €85M ($94.5M).

10. Bayern München - €82M ($91M).
