Man Utd: Dybala and Bruno Fernandes moves off

Report: Manchester United calls off Dybala deal; Bruno Fernandes not on Solskjaer's wishlist

August 4, 2019 By Emmanuel K. Budu-Annor
The pair may not be making their bow at Old Trafford this season as anticipated.

The Dybala to Manchester United transfer is off! The Red Devils have reportedly pulled the plug on a swap deal which would have seen the Argentine international at Old Trafford while Romelu Lukaku heads to Juventus.

The decision comes as a massive blow for the latter as the wantaway Belgian striker's move was expected to be finalised in the coming days. While all has reportedly been agreed between the ex-Everton striker and the Bianconeri, the Red Devils and Dybala were expected to reach mutual grounds this week amid claims of talks advancing well.

However, on Sunday, the Telegraph's James Ducker dropped the bombshell about the new development concerning the stance taken by Manchester United. According to him, the Old Trafford outfit has reservations about the Juventus striker's desire to join and is also unwilling to meet the player's huge wage demands, as well as his agent's exorbitant fees.

The 25-year-old Argentine forward is expected to show up at Juventus' training base on Monday were he was reportedly set to confirm his decision to leave. At the moment, that seems unlikely with his supposed new home backing out of the deal.

Meanwhile, the Juventus star may not be the only player that will potentially not make a bow at Old Trafford this season. Fresh reports have revealed that Bruno Fernandes' Manchester United switch has never been on the cards either.

As per the BBC's Simone Stone, the 24-year-old Portuguese midfielder is not on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's wishlist and the Norwegian manager's side are considering other prospective signings. The report further stated that United could sell Romelu Lukaku without bringing in his replacement this summer.

Amid the massive set-back in the camp of the Red Devils, Bruno Fernandes will feature for Sporting CP in Sunday's Super Taca clash with Benfica - a match-up which could most likely be his last for he Lions amid rumors of his imminent departure.
