This is one Catalan derby that no La Liga fan would like to miss. Barcelona need a win to maintain their lead at the top of La Liga table. When the two sides met earlier this season, Zinedine Zidane’s men dropped crucial points and history could repeat itself if Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo are ruled out due to their recent injury problems.
Atleti, on the other hand, have a relatively-easy fixture on paper against Levante, who have already been relegated. Surprisingly, Diego Simeone’s men have not collected maximum points in their trip to Levante in nine years, and if they fail this time round and Barca wins, then the title race could be as good as over.
At this juncture, the most important thing for Barca is to ensure that they win their last two games and continue scoring as many goals as they can just in case the title race is to be decided by goal difference.
