Xavi's men will travel to Anoeta in search of their first win of the season.

Barcelona returns to La Liga action on Sunday when they travel to Anoeta to take on Real Sociedad. The Catalans will hope to turn things around following a disappointing start in their season opener but will ceratinly not have it easy against a side that has been tipped to potentially secure a spot in Europe for next season.

The excitement that came with the shrewd business done in the transfer market was shortlived after the Xavi's men failed to find the back of the net against Rayo Vallecano over a week go. Los Blaugrana hit 21 shots, finding the target with only six as their opponents remained resolute in defense. Their mishap was subsequently compounded by the sending off of Sergio Busquets at the latter part of the encounter.

As a result, the trip to Anoeta takes up more importance with the players tasked to repay the faith the club has in them by turning up for the show despite it being only the second game of the season. Five years ago, Barca would have dreaded going to the Anoeta but having broken the infamous curse, they could well take a favorable result home. They are unbeaten at the venue in half a decade and will hope to keep the streak going against a Sociedad side that has already tasted victory this season.

The White and Blues defeated Cadiz by a lone goal to secure their first three points of the season. On Sunday, they will hope to build on the win by making life difficult for Barcelona. However, the task will not be an easy one. So far, they have failed to pick up a win in each of their last 10 meetings with Barcelona in La Liga, drawing once and losing nine.
