Arsenal will face Partizan on Tuesday in the UEFA Champions League. But Wenger has revealed that “the whole squad is very low” following their recent shocking defeat.

Arsenal Coach Arsene Wenger reacts in worry during a press conference ahead of his side's UEFA Champions League match against Partizan. The Gunners just lost to West Bromwich Albion in the English Premier League.Arsenal’s miraculous 1-1 draw at Anfield in their first competitive match this season, which followed with a remarkable unbeaten run incited football pundits to predict that the Gunners’ first defeat in all competitions would come against a top club like Chelsea or Manchester United. Last weekend in the English Premier League, however, West Bromwich Albion triumphed over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium to create an upset against all the odds.

The Gunners’ 3-2 defeat against the newly promoted West Brom was actually unexpected, and Coach Arsene Wenger has now admitted that it has affected Arsenal’s momentum ahead of Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League match away to Partizan Belgrade.

“The mood is still very low,” the French man confirmed according to The Mirror.

“But, it’s difficult to compare it with other disappointments. We haven’t yet discovered the measurement of lowness for a football team.”

Arsenal will have to work on what went wrong against West Bromwich last weekend. Tactically, their defense will surely have to be blamed for conceding thrice. But the point here for the Gunners isn’t about blaming anyone or anything as they prepare to affront Partizan.

What counts most for Coach Arsenal Wenger is to get his team ready although the mood in the camp is reportedly “low”. As he looked forward to Arsenal’s Champions League match against Partizan Belgrade, Coach Arsene Wenger told The Mirror:

“I will tell the players to continue to play the way we want to play, and to believe in themselves. That [defeat to West Bromwich Albion] was the first game we’ve lost in any competition, and it wasn’t catastrophic for us.

“We are a good side, and we will bounce back. I believe the kind of game we play needs a high level of confidence. So, for us, it’s important that confidence stays high… But the whole squad is very low.”

Arsenal were spot on at the Emirates Stadium a fortnight ago when they brought Celtic and Sevilla’s giant killers Sporting Braga down to earth. But now, the goal is to keep flying high in Europe and to return from Belgrade to London with all three points in the bag.
