Technically, all four teams in Group C - Sweden, Portugal, Switzerland, and the Netherlands do have a shot at qualifying for the quarter-finals, making matchday three that much more decisive.

Preview: Sweden vs Portugal

With four points from their first two games, Sweden simply need one point to qualify for the knockout rounds. As things stand, Peter Gerhardsson's team would secure their spot in the quarter-finals, provided that they do not suffer a surprise loss to Portugal. Currently ranked as the number two side in women's football, Sweden will be expected to power past their opponents, especially considering the way they cruised to a 4-0 win during the Algarve tournament back in February.

As such, it is safe to say that the Blågult are the heavy favorites to win this match. That being said, Portugal, although they have yet to win a game so far at this tournament, have put up a very impressive fight from their last two games. In both instances, they fought to come back from 2-0 down, and gave reigning champions the Netherlands a real fight before ultimately losing 3-2.

This shows that Portugal, while looking solid in attack, have some major defensive worries that have hindered Fernando Neto's side from picking up some much needed points. However, they are not out of the running for a quarter-finals berth, although their fate is not entirely in their own hands. A win over Sweden is absolutely essential, but they will also need to hope that the Netherlands do not slip up and lose to Switzerland to be totally certain of securing a coveted berth in the knockout rounds.

Preview: Switzerland vs Netherlands

After surviving a nervy clash against Portugal, during which they saw their 2-0 lead nearly end up as a two-all draw, the Netherlands will look to regain balance and secure their spot in the quarter-finals when they take on Switzerland. Arguably, Group C is the most interesting one as technically, all teams have a shot at qualifying for the next stage, although at the moment, the Netherlands and Sweden are looking like the heavy favorites to progress.

The Netherlands are looking to defend their title, but without Sarina Wiegmann, who is now the manager of the English side. It has been a tricky start for the Oranje, who beat Sweden in their opener, but struggled against a determined Portugal side who were painfully close to snatching what would have been a crucial point. However, Danielle van de Donk proved to be the decisive factor, as her late goal was enough to give the reigning champs a 3-2 win and help them to move to the top of their quartet.

Meanwhile, Switzerland drew 2-2 with Portugal, but were narrowly edged out by Sweden 2-1 on matchday two. La Nati have endured a bad year so far, and are still seeking their first win of 2022. In addition, their record against the Oranje is poor, with just two wins from their last 24 overall meetings.

As such, if they want to progress, they will need to upset the odds in a monumental way. Will the Netherlands, once again, end Switzerland's hopes at a major competition - having done so during qualification for the 2019 World Cup a few years ago?
