The Cityzens have won the treble, lifting the Champions League, Premier League, and FA Cup titles this year. However, the club could lose their iconic manager soon.

It has only been two days since Manchester City beat Inter Milan 1-0 in the UEFA Champions League final to not only win their first European Cup but also join Manchester United as the only English clubs to have won the illustrious treble – the Champions League, Premier League, and FA Cup. However, a worrying update on Pep Guardiola's future has been revealed.

The Spanish manager, regarded by many as the greatest tactician of all time, had not won the European trophy since his time at Barcelona, which was the biggest critique of the 52-year-old. However, on Saturday, he ended his long wait and finally brought European glory to the Etihad Stadium.

Unfortunately, according to the Guardian, Pep will only remain with Manchester City for another two years before leaving the Etihad Stadium when his current contract ends in the summer of 2025. That will take his time with the Manchester giants to nine-years.

The report from the reliable British news outlet claims that Guardiola has "all but decided" to leave at the end of his current deal, which he signed back in November. This means Haaland and Co. will have two more seasons with the Spaniard before bidding farewell to one of the most dominant managers the Premier League has ever seen.

In fact, it came as a surprise to Pep's inner circle when he signed that extension back in November. Guardiola reportedly desires to coach in Serie A, the only major European league Pep hasn't stepped foot in, having managed in La Liga (Barcelona), the Bundesliga (Bayern Munich), and the Premier League (Man City). However, Pep could also test himself in international football and could take over a national team.

It will be interesting to see how Manchester City navigate this situation should the Spaniard leave in 2025. Erling Haaland would have only two years left on his deal by that point, meaning it could affect the Norwegian striker's future at the club as well. Additionally, rival clubs will enjoy seeing the departure of Guardiola after winning all but one of the last six Premier League titles.
