The two-time World Cup champion and Olympic gold medalist and her husband have welcomed their first daughter.

US Soccer superstar Alex Morgan has announced the birth of daughter Charlie Elena with her husband, Servando Carrasco. The couple took to social media on Saturday to declare the long-awaited arrival of their baby girl.

Three months after winning the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup with the United States women's soccer team, Alex Morgan announced to the world that she was pregnant. Despite revealing in October that she was due in April, the Orlando Pride attacker and her husband, Servando - a defensive midfielder for LA Galaxy - were made to wait a few more weeks for their first daughter.

Eventually, Charlie Elena Carrasco finally arrived at midnight on Thursday, May 7.

"At 11:30am on May 7 weighing 8lbs. 5oz., Charlie Elena Carrasco made her grand entrance into the world," Morgan wrote on Instagram.

"She made us wait longer than expected, but I should have known she would do it her way and her way only. My super moon baby."

In a separate Instagram post, Servando Carrasco also wrote: "Charlie Elena Carrasco, we love you so much, baby girl," said Carrasco, 31, in an Instagram post welcoming his daughter yesterday.

"Alex, you're such a warrior," he wrote alongside a picture of the baby. "5/7/20 – best day of my life."
