The Spanish defender has poured fuel onto the never-ending squabble.

Spain and Real Madrid skipper Sergio Ramos has insisted that his "conscience is clear" amid his tiff with Mohamed Salah. The 32-year-old defender has been public enemy No. 1 for potentially changing the outcome of last season's UEFA Champions League final with his tackle on the Egyptian forward.

Salah's night was abruptly ended and the 26-year-old forward was forced to watch his side fall to a 3-1 defeat from the bench in Kiev. He, alongside his manager Jurgen Klopp, subsequently came out to profess that Ramos' act might have been deliberate but the Real Madrid defender has refuted the claim on multiple occasions throughout this summer.

With Spain set to take on England at Wembley in the UEFA Nation's League, a hostile environment could be awaiting La Roja's skipper due to the incident. However, the four-time UEFA Champions League winner seems unfazed about the reception he might get from the fans during Saturday's outing.

"I have a clear conscience," he told reporters.

"It doesn't matter to me. I am not really concerned about that. I never wanted to hurt a colleague on the pitch. My conscience is very clear.

"I know the English fans will give the receptions players deserve. I am not worried about that in the slightest."
