Saturday's early kick-off saw Wolves and Man City lock horns in round three of the English Premier League. Many tipped the defending champion to march to an easy win, but that could not have been further from the truth.
The newly-promoted side proved difficult to break down. Last season's Championship winner took the lead, in fact, and looked to secure a shock victory until Laporte equalized en route to a 1-1 finish.
However, many felt Guardiola's men were dealt injustice, one that VAR could have corrected. It all had to do with the opening goal, which came courtesy of Willy Boly.
The Wolves center-back converted a lovely cross from Joao Moutinho, but replay showed that the Frenchman's head attempt came off his hand before landing in the back of the net. Furthermore, he appeared to be offside but the linesman failed to spot anything.
This sparked an outrage on Twitter, with many questioning the FA's decision to delay implementing Video Assistant Referee in the English top-flight. Had Wolves' only goal been disallowed, the Citizens would have marched to a third straight victory in as many games.
Instead, they must now hope those two dropped points don't come back to haunt them. Check out the best tweets below.

Wolves score a goal from a handball, and straight after David Silva is fouled in the box. Please don't tell me you still don't think VAR is needed.

This goal will have been disallowed by VAR and it would have taken about 15-20 seconds. Some say luck "evens out over a season" but what if Man City lose this game and end up losing the title by a point? VAR is needed next season#Wolves #MCFC #WOLMCI pic.twitter.com/5uEFp0tY62

Handball goal from Wolves. VAR would have sorted it.

The decision to not bring VAR into the PL this season is ridiculous...the game needs it...
The Wolves goal was both offside and a handball!

Linesman was in clear view @FA how can you excuse that?
That Wolves goal was offside and handball.

Let's take a closer look at the linesman who somehow missed the Wolves goal being a handball and offside.... pic.twitter.com/ez5uB5s8UO
