As the way thing stands, the north London outfit will be playing in the Europa League next season. They sit in fifth spot, trailing both Man City and Liverpool – the only two team’s within their reach.

Not all hope is lost. Should the Gunners win their two remaining games – a must – and their rivals slip up, Arsenal can finish in the top four. Here’s what needs to happen for the Gunners to qualify for the Champions League.
To catch Man City
The Citizens are the closest rivals only because Liverpool have played an extra game. The Citizens (72 points) sit exactly three points ahead of Arsenal (69 points). The Gunners play Sunderland and Everton at home in their final two games, whilst the Citizens host West Brom before traveling to Watford.
The best Wenger can hope for is two consecutive draws – that would leave City at 74 points and Arsenal at 75, given that the Gunners win their two remaining games.
A loss on either Tuesday or Sunday for Guardiola’s men could work out for Wenger’s side, but it will be difficult. Man City have +5 superior goal difference, meaning the Citizens would have to lose big or Arsenal will have to win big in their last two games.
To catch Liverpool
This will be easier, as only a draw for Liverpool would be enough to see the Gunners leapfrog them. Unfortunately, only one game remains for the Reds – a home clash with Middlesbrough.
Klopp’s men have been inconsistent this season, but the Boro are unluckily to stun Liverpool. Not only did they lose 3-0 to the Anfield side in their previous clash, Middlesbrough have also been relegated.
The odds are against Arsenal, but not all hope is lost.
