According to Mino Raiola, the agent of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, doctors were left shocked by the player’s knee after operating on it. The Swedish striker went under the knife after suffering ligament damage in his right knee.
Questions remain whether the 35-year-old will silence the skeptics once more and return to football. Nonetheless, the surgeons were impressed by the former PSG star.
Raiola claims that the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine doctors who operated on Zlatan’s knee were left surprised by how strong it was. The agent revealed that the state of Ibrahimovic’s knee was strangely perfect for an athlete of his ae.
“His knee is so strong that the doctors said they had never seen anything like it,” Raiola told Expressen (as per the Independent).
“He has a knee that it is almost impossible for a football player with a 20-year career to have. It was quite clean, there was no harm in it.
“Zlatan is so strong that the doctor wants him back after his career to research on him. They work on the world's best research institutions for the knees and ligaments.”
The Man United underwent surgery earlier this week, with the striker claiming to be “fixed, done and stronger” after his successful surgery. Ibrahimovic also insisted that fans would enjoy his football soon, hinting against claims that his career has hit a sad and abrupt end.
However, his future at Old Trafford isn’t clear. Their top-scorer signed a one-year deal with the possibility of an extension last summer, but given the seriousness of his injury – he is likely to be out for nine months – the Red Devils will probably usher him out the door.
