Zlatan Ibrahimovic put up a man of the match performance against Southampton in the final of the League Cup at Wembley on Saturday. The Swedish forward opened the scoring in the 19th minute of the game, and teammate Jesse Lingard added the second 18 minutes later.
Then the red devils suffered a scare in the second half when Manolo Gabiaddini scored two quick goals to take the match level at 2-2. Then Zlatan rose high above Saints' defenders in the 86th minute and powered home a bullet header to give the English giants their fifth EFL Cup.
And when the center referee blew the final whistle, the 35-year-old could be seeing shedding tears of joy. This was quite unusual for such a tough-taking player who is well-known for his bravado and self-glorification. The self-proclaimed god of Manchester wept - a rare occasion in his career.
And as expected, football fans on Twitter could not let this moment slide. Check out some of the reactions.
