After what's been a wonderful season for Leicester City, some of their top performers have gathered the attention of top-caliber football teams around the world. One of those players is Riyad Mahrez, who could be getting ready to leave the Foxes if the proper offer to sign him makes its way to his agent's desk.
In an interview published by Spanish outlet Marca, the Algerian footballer's agent Kamel Bengougam cast a doubt over the player's future, as he claims a number of teams have approached with inquiries to sign the talented playmaker.
"I'd say it's 50/50 at the moment whether he stays or goes. He is very happy with Leicester and of course it has been a fantastic season, but at his age if the opportunity comes to play for a big team then we would have to think about it," Bengougam said.
The player has scored 17 goals and handed out 11 assists during this historic season for the Foxes.
The Algerian star's contract with the recently crowned English Premier League champions expires on June of 2019, with his buyout clause standing at 20 million euros, according to transfermarkt. Later in the interview, his agent revealed that a number of EPL teams have shown interest in signing Mahrez, but he refused to reveal which ones.
"We have interest from the UK and overseas. When you have been playing the way Riyad has this season it is bound to attract attention," Mahrez's agent added.
The 25-year-old ace is expected to play next Saturday against Everton, where the team will lift the trophy as the 2015-2016 Premier League champions.
