Only the Hornets stand between the Gunners and a spot in the FA Cup semi-finals, with the Premier League sides set to clash at the Emirates.

Although a 2nd leg tie remains, set to be played this Wednesday, the 2-0 deficit leaves little hope of Arsenal progressing in the Champions League at the expense of holders Barcelona.

And although the Gunners remain in the mix of the English Premier League title race, the 8-point gap between them and leaders Leicester City makes the fight for the league crown an uphill battle.

The FA Cup is one tournament, however, that the north London giants stand a great chance of winning. Fellow Premier League side Watford stand in the way of Arsenal and a spot in the semi-finals, though. Will the Gunners book their ticket to Wembley?

Team news – who’s fit and who’s not?

Selection headache is the most befitting way to describe the injury crisis on Arsene Wenger’s hands, as six senior players are sidelined: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jack Wilshere, Thomas Rosicky, Aaron Ramsey, Santi Cazorla, and Petr Cech.

In addition, Arsenal’s three senior (only) center-backs – Laurent Koscielny, Per Mertesacker, and Gabriel Paulista – are all doubtful for the game, meaning the Gunners may have to play a make-shift back four with Calum Chambers and Nacho Monreal in the middle.

Watford will be without Tommie Hoban, whilst the unfit Joel Ekstrand joins Miguel Britos and Craig Cathcart (calf) on the list of doubtful players.

Head to head

It has been more than three years since Wenger’s boys last lost an FA Cup game, and are thus expected to pip the Hornets to a spot in the last 4.

In addition, Arsenal have not dropped a single point in their last 6 encounters with Watford in all competitions, an winning run which stretches back until 1999.

Furthermore, the reigning FA Cup champions have kept three clean sheets in their last 5 cup games at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal are favorites, but Wenger is wary of Watford's strikig force nonetheless
