Just two days after a crushing defeat at the hands of Southampton, Arsenal will now be looking to turn things around when they face Bournemouth in a home fixture. The Gunners missed a glorious opportunity to go top of the table as the Saints put forth a spirited performance recording a 4-0 win over the North London side.
Summer signing Petr Cech who has been in impeccable form since making the switch from Chelsea in the summer accepted that Arsenal were not at their best during the weekend fixture, but he is positive that his side will respond.
"The positive thing is there is a game on Monday and we will be ready to bounce back," Cech told Arsenal's official website.
"We had a game where nothing was really happening for us and everything was happening for them.
"If you look at the number of shots they had - they had one in the first half and they scored a goal.
"In the second half [two of their] goals were practically the same. They had two shots and they put them in. Obviously when you play against a team which has this type of efficiency in front of goal then it is difficult to win games.
"Our performance was not as we wanted but that’s football - especially in the Premier League. When you have a day like that and you don’t find your way it is very difficult to win."
On Monday Arsenal face a side they have only played one competitive match against which was back in the 1987-88 season in a League Cup encounter. Arsene Wenger and co. will be careful to not take their opponents lightly who are undefeated in their last games and have recorded wins over the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea during the process.
Arsenal will continue to be without the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Jack Wilshere, Santi Cazorla and Francis Coquelin. Bournemouth on the other hand have doubts over the likes of Harry Arter and Josh King.
