Following their respective defeats against Guangzhou Evergrande and Sanfrecce Hiroshima, Mexican Club América and TP Mazembe from Congo will play each other to determine the 5th and 6th place of the 2015 FIFA Club World Cup. This will be the second meeting for each team against a CAF side, América lost the third-place match against Al Ahly from Egypt , while TP Mazembe beat Pachuca during their historic 2010 Club World Cup, where they lost the final match against Inter Milan.

The team from CONCACAF has been harshly criticized back home after losing their first match, and Ignacio Ambriz's men will try to save face with their second-ever win in the tournament. The Mexican coach revealed he will be changing a number of players compared to those who lost the first game against Guangzhou, while adding the team needs to stop thinking about their disappointing performance last Sunday.
"We can't be thinking about what could have happened or what we could've done better, we need to perform better against the African team. TP Mazembe is a dangerous, dynamic team, but we will focus a bit more on what we can do," the Mexican coach stated.

The African side aimed to repeat their wonderful performance back in 2010, but Sanfrecce Hiroshima shocked them with a 3-0 score line, destroying their dreams of facing South American champions River Plate. Patrice Carteron, the team's coach, will attempt to recover the good vibrations his players had before Sunday's loss, so they can show the world their true skills.
"We always have a high expectations and we're all frustrated at the moment. We've failed, but there's one more chance for us. We're going to work hard to show the real TP Mazembe in the next match. We’ll need to show more offensively, we'll need to show more intensity and we'll need to show more defensively," Carteron added.
