The Costa Rican goalie struggled all week with a muscular injury, and coach Rafa Benitez decided to rest him prior to PSG's match next Tuesday.

Apparently, Rafa Benitez prefers to be safe than sorry.

Today, Real Madrid's coach revealed that one of the key players for Real Madrid will have to watch Saturday's game from the stands, as Keylor Navas has been left out of the squad facing Las Palmas tomorrow. Benitez also hinted that they will not risk any of their players that recently recovered from an injury, with the intention of having them available for next week's clash against Paris Saint-Germain.

The 28-year old goalkeeper has played 12 games for Los Blancos this season, conceding three goals in the process. His form has allowed him to remain unbeaten in the UEFA Champions League, also leading the goalkeeper rankings in La Liga.

Benitez also spoke about the current struggle to win the Spanish tournament, hinting that there will be no records set by the one that ends up lifting the trophy next season.

"I said it before and I stand by my words. When this league's over, the teams on top will not have as many points as they did during the past years. For example, Atletico has invested money in some long-term players, and we could watch Valencia or Villarreal strip a few points from the teams on top, or maybe battle for La Liga themselves. There are lots of teams that can be crowned as champions this season, it's not just a matter of two sides," Benitez concluded.
