Mexico got past a slow start to win the 2015 Gold Cup final against Jamaica by 3-1. The team managed by Miguel Herrera now adds a seventh title as the king of
With all the controversy of Mexico's semifinal game against Panama still lingering in the minds of both teams. (Jamaica and Mexico), the game was played under a sold out crowd at Lincoln Financial Field. Jesus Corona would take the spot of Carlos Vela in the starting lineup. The striker from Real Sociedad was suspended for a double booking over the course of the tournament.
Jamaica had three clear chances to open the scoreboard first but was not able to get their shots on target. The team that was playing its first Gold Cup final was in control of the game despite the fact that they were facing a team that on paper was a very clear favorite to win the cup since the day it started.
The Reggae Boyz control of the game drastically decreased when Andres Guardado got a perfect cross from Paul Aguilar and El Principito pushed it to the back of the net to open the scoreboard for Mexico. That was Guardado's sixth goal of the tournament and his fourth in the last three games.

If Jamaica wanted to take the game into overtime, they would have needed a miracle that never came. They were only able to avoid Guillermo Ochoa from leaving the game with a clean sheet.
