After stating the goalkeeper will not be taking part of the team's preseason tour this summer, the former Barcelona shot-stopper used his Twitter feed to deny LVG of any wrongdoing.

It seems that Louis Van Gaal can't keep away from controversy, even in the offseason. The Dutch manager started the team's U.S. tour with a statement about Victor Valdes, who was left out of the club's summer expedition. The former Barcelona and Netherlands coach revealed that the Catalan keeper would have to look for another team, since he is not fully committed with the team's code of conduct.

"Valdes is not selected because he doesn't follow my philosophy. The philosophy is how you play football and how you maintain your match rhythm. He refused last year to play in the second team. There are a lot of other aspects in the philosophy how you have to play like a goalkeeper at Manchester United. When you are not willing to apply the principles of that philosophy there is only one way, and that is out," the seasoned manager stated.

Even though Van Gaal gave Valdés his first chance with Barcelona, back in 2002, their relationship has not been as candid as you would believe. Van Gaal's decision of returning Valdés to Barca B just weeks after giving him his first chance in top flight football did not go well with the young shot-stopper, who refused to train with the second tier team. LVG asked former Barcelona president Joan Gaspart to sack Valdés, but the exec refused. In the end, Van Gaal's results with Los Blaugranas forced him out of the club, while Valdés returned to the top team and started a prosperous career with Los Culés.

After Van Gaal's words were revealed, Valdés used his Twitter account to speak his truth in a simple sentence.

A La Liga return for Valdés next year?

Van Gaal's words were felt as an invitation to leave the club, and the player's agents may have found a possible destination. Spanish side Valencia, which will be playing the UEFA Champions League next season, need an experienced goalkeeperto substitute the currently unavailable Diego Alves, and Valdés fits the description perfectly. Sources indicate that negotiations are underway, but the Catalan shot-stopper wants a multi-year deal, while Los Naranjeros want to sign the former Barcelona man for one season, with an optional second based on his performances. Valdes' arrival to Mestalla could be subject to further negotiations including Nicolas Otamendi, one of Louis Van Gaal's targets to boost his defense next season.
