TMC history, coverage, features
TMC is a free-to-air television channel available in France, which launched in 1954.Owned by Groupe TF1, the channel was originally called Tele Monte-Carlo, and it went through three other names until it officially became known as TMC in 2009.
The channel’s function within Groupe TF1 is to provide households in France with free entertainment programming, with TV dramas, news shows and talk shows featuring prominently.
Live sport has also featured on TMC in the past. Groupe TF1 previously had the rights to the FIFA World Cup and UEFA European Championship, and TMC was used for live matches and highlights in these instances.
TMC is available on terrestrial television in France via channel 10, while streaming options are available through the TF1+ app, which can be downloaded for free onto smartphones, tablets and other compatible devices.
