Matches are broadcast free-to-air, with 10 to 13 national team fixtures shown annually across various competitions, including the World Cup qualification campaign.

Olympic Soccer Qualifying - Women

SVT airs selected matches involving Sweden's women's national football team at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. These fixtures are included in its national team broadcast schedule under a free-to-air agreement valid through 2028, with access provided for selected Olympic football fixtures involving Sweden in 2028.

SVT broadcasts UEFA Women's Euro 2029 qualifiers involving the Swedish national team. These matches are included in its yearly allocation of 10 to 13 national team games per calendar year under its agreement with Viaplay for the 2025-2028 cycle.

SVT broadcasts Sweden's matches in the UEFA Women's Nations League from 2025 through 2028 as part of a sub-licensing agreement with Viaplay. The public broadcaster airs 10 to 13 women's national team matches per year free-to-air, including selected fixtures from the Nations League.

SVT24 history, coverage, features

SVT 24 is a Swedish television channel that is owned and operated by Sveriges Television. It was launched on March 14, 1999 as SVT24. The channel would undergo two rebrandings over the years, being known as svt 24 from 2001 to 2003, and one more where the channel was simply known as 24. Eventually, its parent network would decide to go back to SVT 24 in 2007. 

SVT24 was conceived as a news channel, but it later started including current affairs shows, sports, and movies. SVT24 bases its programming on reruns for shows that have previously been aired on its sister networks: SVT1 and SVT2. The channel’s approach has been harshly criticized by TV experts in Sweden, since adding a network to include reruns is not as appealing as the channel’s owners may have thought.

Speaking about sports, SVT24 has covered events regarding disciplines such as ice hockey, football, basketball, cycling, athletics, and winter sports. Most of the sports events aired on this channel are repeat broadcasts for shows previously aired by SVT1 or its other sister channels. 

Football coverage on SVT24 has included games for the top Swedish football league, the Allsvenskan, as well as games for the Swedish National Team. 

SVT24 was launched as a Standard Definition channel, but the network became a full HD channel in 2013. Unlike its sister channels, SVT24’s content is still available in Standard Definition in some regions.
