Pompey defender Matt Clarke demonstrated some of his dribbling ability and skill to carry the ball from inside his own half and then round home the move after Curtis Main's shot was parried by the Reds keeper. The only fit natural centre-half in the first team at the time, it was down to Clarke to hold things tight at the back and stop goals, but the expectation for him to score them wasn't quite as high. Shades of Red Rum with that gallop.
