Surprisingly, both former Arsenal forward, Andrei Arshavin, and former Tottenham striker, Roman Pavlyuchenko, did not make the list and will not go to the World Cup.
Reading’s striker, Pavel Pogrebnyak, was named on the list, together with veteran strikers Alexander Kerzhakov and Alexander Kokorin.
Another surprise by the Italian coach was represented by the inclusion of Andrei Semyonov, Yuri Gazinsky, Pavel Mogilevets and Maxim Kannunikov, since neither has ever played for Russia.
