The Premier League title race took an interesting turn with the top two clubs enjoying contrasting fortunes.

The Premier League has reached its business end and if the results from the latest gameweek is anything to go by, we should be in for an interesting finale. Defending champions Manchester City have landed themselves in a sticky situation as a result of the outcome of their clash with Crystal Palace. Having seen Liverpool defeat Brighton & Hove Albion in their respective fixture,

Pep Guardiola's men needed a win at Selhurst Park to shield themselves from the pressure being mounted by the Reds. However, they failed in their attempt, picking up a disappointing 0-0 draw against Patrick Viera's side. The result meant that Liverpool will have the chance to narrow the gap to just a point when they play Arsenal on Wednesday and will keep an eye of their impending trip to the Etihad next month.

While the situation at the top half has drawn keen attention, the top-four race is also hotting up. Up to five teams are in contention to finish in fourth position, with Chelsea consolidating their place among the top three with a last-gasp win over Newcastle. Fourth-placed Arsenal extended their remarkable unbeaten run by beating Leicester 2-0 at the Emirates while Manchester United dealt Tottenham Hotspur a subtle blowing their quest through a Cristiano Ronaldo-inspired 3-2 win.

Wolves, who are only five points adrift of a top-four place, added to Everton's miseries with a 1-0 win at the Goodison Park. Relatively, West Ham defeated Steven Gerrard's Aston Villa by two goals to one to make a claim for European cup qualification spot. At the bottom half, the battle for survival is actively going on, with the likes of Norwich and Burnley win tough positions.
