According to his views, the 29-year-old Brazilian ace does not seem keen on extending his career until his mid-30's.

Contrary to what many peple may believe, one of the biggest names in the world of football may be considering the option of an early retirement, which would bring serious ramifications to his career and to the teams he plays for.

According to an interview excerpt shared by DAZN, Brazilian superstar Neymar may be ready to hang his boots sooner than expected. The player's words in the interview may be shocking to some, since he told the media outlet that the end of his career could come right after the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

"I think that the 2022 World Cup in Qatar will be my last World Cup. I don't know if I will have the mental strength to deal with football after that," Neymar told DAZN.

The former Barcelona player shared a few more details about this decision, which could mark the end of an era for Brazilian football.

"I will do everything in my power to get to the World Cup in the best shape possible. I will try to fulfill my boyhood dream of leading Brazil to a World Cup title, and I hope I can get it next year,"Neymar added.

The Brazilian ace has led A Canarinha to the top spot in the ongoing World Cup Qualifiers, and he will be playing one more match with Tite's men next Thursday against Uruguay.
