Paris Saint-Germain players have been subjected to criticism on social media for trolling Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland following Wednesday's Champions League win. Les Parisians mimicked the teenager's celebration after their Round of 16 victory inside Parc des Prince which saw them book a ticket to the Last 8 for the first time in four years.
The player in question, Haaland, was crucial in Dortmund's 2-1 win over the Ligue 1 outfit in the first leg as the former RB Salzburg struck both goals at the Signal Iduna Park. However, the 19-year-old Norwegian striker was kept at bay in Paris and was hardly a threat against the hosts, a development which halted his remarkable Champion League scoring record.
With goals from Neymar and Bernat ensuring that PSG run away as victors via a 3-2 aggregate scoreline, Thomas Tuchel's men ended the night by posing for a photograph with Haaland's signature goal celebration. However, the action of the players have since been condemned on social media. Below are a number of such reactions:
If I was Haaland, I'd love this. Yes his team went out but he's 19 and living rent free in these players minds, including the two most expensive players of all time.

Fair play to Haaland, he's only 19 and he's living in the entire PSG squad's heads rent free

Meanwhile, the PSG players took their celebrations up a notch by climbing to the rooftop of Parc des Princes to join thousands of their fans cheering them on from outside the stadium following the end of proceedings. Due to the precautions put in place by the French government to tackle the spread of coronavirus in the country, no supporters were allowed inside the venue to cheer on their respective clubs.
Still, a video footage which emerged on the internet in the aftermath of the night's celebrations showed PSG full-back Layvin Kurzawa breaching the COVID-19 protocol to celebrate among the fans. Watch:
