The Brazilian superstar was found guilty of punching a fan after his side's cup final defeat last season.

Paris Saint-German star Neymar Jr could be in more trouble for his post-match altercation with a Rennes fan in last season's Coupe de France Final. The victim who was assaulted has reportedly filed a lawsuit against the 27-year-old Brazilian superstar.

Back in April, a 2-2 draw in the domestic cup final was decided on penalties and ended with PSG losing 6-5 to Rennes. While Les Parisiens were on their way to claim their runners-up medal, Neymar angrily lashed out at a fan who was filming the players' trip upstairs right in front of him. The former Barcelona star then followed up by punching the supporter following a brief argument.

Upon reviewing the incident, Neymar was asked to serve a three-game ban for his actions by Ligue 1. However, according to French publication L'Equipe, the Rennes supporter aims to worsen the plight of the Brazilian forward by hitting him with a lawsuit.

The victim's lawyer, Philippe Ohayon, told the newspaper that his client, whose identity remains concealed, made the decision to take the course of action after a meeting between members of Neymar's legal team did not yield the desired result.

Meanwhile, although controversies around the ex-Santos prodigy refuse to die down, the player will breathe a sigh of relief after investigations into claims of raping a woman in a Paris hotel were closed on Thursday. A Brazilian judge reportedly threw out the case after accepting that it cannot move forward due to a lack of evidence.
