Although Juventus are still firmly in command of the Scudetto race, the Bianconeri ended up dropping points in a surprise 2-2 draw with Atalanta last round. Star man Cristiano Ronaldo was expected to be given a rest, but had to come off the bench to salvage a draw for La Vecchia Signora after Atalanta were stubbornly clinging to their 2-1 advantage. As a result, Juve's new signing is thus expected to feature from the start against Sampdoria as Massimiliano Allegri will be hoping to sign off on 2018 with a win.

However, Sampdoria will obviously have other ideas. Led by veteran striker Fabio Quagliarella, who is third in the Capocannoniere race with 11 goals netted so far, the visitors will hope to become the first side to beat Juventus on home turf in league action this season. Marco Giampaolo's side come into this game on a three game winning streak, and are unbeaten in their last five matches.

Although they have struggled to get strong results on the road, with losses so far to AC Milan and Roma, the Genoa-based outfit have leap-frogged Milan now into fifth spot and are just two points Lazio, who sit in fourth place. Certainly, they would want to get some kind of result in Turin in order to keep themselves firmly in contention for a European spot.

Notably, Sampdoria are just a handful of teams to snatch a win at Allianz Stadium. The visitors earned an impressive 2-1 victory here back in 2013, and with Quagliarella having netted in his last eight games, they certainly will be fancying their chances at ending Juve's unbeaten run this season.
