Five-time champion United States to face back-to-back finalist Jamaica in championship final at Levi’s Stadium July 26

The Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) confirmed today that the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup grand finale featuring United States and Jamaica is set for this Wednesday, July 26 at 9:30 p.m. ET in the Bay Area’s Levi’s Stadium. Nearly 60,000 tickets have been sold for the championship match of the 2017 Gold Cup, which kicked off on July 7, with 12 teams competing for the Confederation’s national team championship.

Five-time Gold Cup winner United States moved on to its 10th Gold Cup final in a 2-0 win over Costa Rica Saturday night in Dallas, on the strength of a goal and an assist from veteran Clint Dempsey. With his 82nd minute goal, Dempsey tied Landon Donovan as the U.S. national team’s all-time goal scorer at 57 goals, and will have an opportunity to break the record in the Bay Area this coming Wednesday.

Jamaica, the only Caribbean nation to reach the Gold Cup final, has qualified for its second final, back-to-back from the 2015 Gold Cup final appearance, where it lost to Mexico. On its way to this year’s title match, Jamaica’s Kemar Lawrence scored the lone goal of a late free kick in Jamaica’s 1-0 win over Mexico in the semifinal Sunday night in the Los Angeles area. Jamaica, which eliminated the United States in a semifinal match two years ago, is looking to become the first-ever nation from outside of North America to claim the Gold Cup title.

Fans with tickets are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy Futbol Fiesta presented by Toyota, the fan interactive zone located at Green Lot 1 of Levi’s Stadium from 1:45 to 5:45 pm PT. Parking lots will open at 1:30 p.m. and general gates will open at 4:30 p.m. The clear bag policy will be in place, and there will be bag check locations at Gates A, C and F.

Tickets for the Final of the Gold Cup are available by visiting www.GoldCup.org.
