James Rodriguez’s future has almost been settled. After spending the majority of last season on the bench, the Colombian sensation wants an exit in favor of regular playing time.
Real Madrid are ready to sell the former Monaco man, as the eventual arrival of Dani Ceballos means James will go further down the pecking order. However, it is bad news for the Premier League, as the South American ace looks ready to snub a move to England.
According to Calciomercato, James is set to join Bayern Munich. The player’s desire to reunite with former manager Carlo Ancelotti was the deciding factor in choosing the Bundesliga champions ahead of all other suitors.
Carletto was manager at Los Blancos when the Colombian sealed his mega-money Santiago Bernabeu move back in 2014. It was under the Italian manager’s tutelage that Rodriguez enjoyed his best Real Madrid season.
The Bavarians see the Real Madrid misfit as an ideal replacement for Douglas Costa, who is set to leave the Allianz Arena for Juventus. Bayern Munich, however, want Rodriguez on loan, with an option to buy.
The 25-year-old has emerged as Ancelotti’s main target after the German giants gave up hope on luring Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal.
This latest report will come as bad news to Chelsea, Man United, and AC Milan – three European heavyweights who were interested in James’ services.
