Les Merengues, who were reportedly met by 50,000 fans at Cibeles, commemorated their 33rd league title in an open-top bus. The festive mood was tainted by x-rated chants by “certain squad members”.
This is according to AS, reporting that “Pique you b*****d, bow down before the champions” was chanted by Real Madrid players. Atletico were soon targeted by the crowd, as they chanted “Atleti fans tell me how it feels”.
Pique has long been an outspoken critic of Real Madrid. The Spaniard attacks the club whenever possible, trolls its players, and cries foul play at every debatable refereeing decision in Les Merengues favor.
The Barca defender had even gotten under the nerves of captain Sergio Ramos, with the Real Madrid skipper confronting his countryman as he walked off the pitch after being sent off in El Clasico.
