Barcelona have been handed a huge blow in the transfer market. The club, having resigned former players in the past, won’t be able to bring back Thiago Alcantara to Camp Nou after the Spaniard signed a new deal with Bayern Munich.
The midfielder, whose original contract was due to expire in the summer of 2019, put pen to paper on a deal which runs until 2021. The 26-year-old will now continue his dream of winning the Champions League with the Bavarians.
When asked about the new deal, Thiago said: “It means that I will be here for a long time and I will try to win more games and titles in the coming years.”
The Spaniard has been linked with a return to the Blaugrana, but his new deal will kill those rumors. Having won the Bundesliga every year since his 2013 Allianz Arena move, Alcantara will look to pile on the accolades in Germany.
