The Spanish center back was sent off during the clash against Barcelona for an untimely tackle against Lionel Messi.

In the end, Sergio Ramos' punishment ended up being anything but harsh.

The Spanish center back will only miss Wednesday's trip to La Coruña, as the Royal Spanish Football Federation handed him a one-match ban after El Clásico. Los Blancos' captain will also have to pay a €650 ban for the late challenge that forced referee Fernández Fernández to show him a rather controversial red card.

This can only be good news for Zinedine Zidane, as he is rather short on center backs for the final stretch of the season. Ramos' absence forced Zizou to call up a couple of center backs from the youth squad, with Nacho and Varane in line to play on Wednesday against Deportivo.
