Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been tipped to take the England national team job, once again. The Frenchman has been identified as an ‘excellent choice’ for the Three Lions managerial post a few days after the sacking of former manager Sam Allardyce.
Wenger’s contract with the Gunners is is expected to end at the end of the season, and rumors from a section of the British press have linked him with the England top managerial top. And now, according to former Arsenal great Marc Overmars, the Frenchman is the ‘excellent choice’ for the job as long as he has the energy for it. Speaking at the ASPIRE4SPORT event, he said:
''I think that he would be an excellent choice for the English.
''Maybe it's time for him, if he has the energy for it.''
Meanwhile, Gareth Southgate has taken over as the temporary England manager as the FA continues to search for a suitable candidate. Five days ago, Wenger heaped praise on English football and the country in general. He also admitted that he could one day manage England if he had no club commitments.
