August 23, 2016 will be a date most Roma fans will want to forget as soon as possible.
The Giallorossi seemed to be ready to take the play-off tie against FC Porto after a 1-1 away draw last week, but a couple of red cards for Daniele De Rossi and Emerson Palmieri complicated things for Spalletti's men after The Dragons' opening goal.
To make matters worse, goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny failed miserably while trying to do his best Manuel Neuer impersonation, leaving his goal wide open for Miguel Layun to score.
The Polish goalkeeper tried to beat the speedy Mexican to the ball, but Layun made it past Szczesny with ease, sending the ball into the back of the net to secure Porto's place in the Group Stage of the UEFA Champions League.
