As such, stars like Hope Solo could make way for second-choice shot-stopper Alyssa Naeher, who plies her trade for Chicago Red Stars and has seven caps to her name. Additional players that may be rested entirely or could feature for a limited period include Carli Lloyd, Tobin Heath, and Alex Morgan. And Megan Rapinoe may finally return to action after being out of action since late last year due to injury.
Colombia
As for Colombia, Fabian Taborda's side have had a very disappointing tournament. And given their bad track record against the United States, things only appear likely to get worse for Las Chicas Superpoderosas. They were humiliated 4-0 by France and despite putting up a good fight, were unable to find a way past New Zealand, who beat then 1-0. Reportedly, Taborda has already thrown in the towel and may rest some of his star players, including striker Lady Andrade - who was ejected four years ago for punching Abby Wambach in the face.
