Real Madrid striker Gareth Bale is hoping he can continue his good streak of scoring goals in finals for Saturday's glorious game against Atletico Madrid.

Since joining Real Madrid back in 2013, the Welshman has proven to be critical in finals, netting goals in three, including the 2013 Champions League final. The former Tottenham Hotspur footballer spoke to Madrid-based paper MARCA 48 hours before the much-anticipated match between Los Blancos and Los Colchoneros.

"We're all very excited and eager to start the [final], having the opportunity to win another Champions League is already a success, although the goal is to win it, of course.

"It would be impressive to lift the Champions League twice in three seasons."

The 26-year old demonstrated his worth after leading his side to European victory in Lisbon with his crucial extra-time goal, as the Madridistas went on to beat Diego Simeone's lads 4-1.

"I'm excited when I see [the goal], the feeling of scoring in a Champions League final is unique and when you watch it again there's a feeling of immense happiness. Not only with my goal but Sergio Ramos', for example, that allowed us to get to extra-time and win the final."

It seemed as if Real Madrid was set to lose the 2013 Champions League final, but Sergio Ramos gave his team an oxygen line in the 93rd minute to lead the game into extra-time. However, Los Merengues will look to avoid the nerviness they endured in their last meet-up with Atletico, hoping to capitalize early on.

"It would be better to win without much suffering, in a simpler way, but a final of the Champions League is never easy, and we know that Atletico Madrid is a very tough team, so we're prepared for a testing night."Atletico have had a great season and will be a great opponent [in the final]."

When asked about boss Zidane, the Real Madrid ace had only words of praise for the Frenchman.

"The work [Zidane's] doing is fantastic, he's confident and knows what he does, he was one of the best players in the world. Zidane's a very elegant and humble person, we're all very comfortable with him. The team plays with more joy, more freedom, which is important in a team like Real. And that's the spirit we need to have in the final, with the idea that we have to run a lot and play as a team."

Bale is also expecting a similar Atletico Madrid on Saturday, as he has become familiar with their style of play.

"Atletico is a very difficult opponent, a team that defends well and are physically very strong, but we've beat them in the final before and we can do it again [on Saturday]. To do this, we know we must play 100 per cent to our potential."

Can Bale and Co. lift their first ever Champions League title under the leadership of Zinedine Zidane?
