The Telegraph reports that Chelsea billionaire owner Roman Abramovic is set to travel to Italy in the next seven days to sign a deal with Antonio Conte, who is expected to take charge of the Blues next season. The Italian manager is also expected to pen a three-year deal with the English giants, according to the report.
It further states that Conte’s brother Daniele, who is the owner of One Apple restaurant in Monte Carlo, could host the two parties at the venue as they negotiate the final details of the agreement.
Conte, 46, is a former legendary midfielder at Juventus and is remembered for his energetic style of play and great leadership skills. During his playing career, he won the Champions League and the Italian Serie A five times. After his retirement from football, he decided to return to Juventus as a manager. During that period, he won the Serie A title thrice with The Old Lady and the Italian Supercup twice.
He has previously managed Arezzo, Bari, Atalanta, Siena, Juventus and most recently, the Italian national football team.
