Chelsea was able to cancel Zlatan Ibrahimovic's first half goal to win their first game of the current pre-season against the French champions. The Blues had a very good second half with some of their finest footballers on the pitch, and when it came to the penalty shootout to decide the game, Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois proved his worth by saving a couple of shots and scoring the game winner for Jose Mourinho's side.
Ibra scored the first goal of the game after putting to good use a rebound from one of the posts, but Victor Moses was able to put Chelsea back in contention, netting the game's tying goal 20 minutes into the second half. Colombian striker Radamel Falcao made his debut with the Blues, and he came near to scoring his first goal with his new team during regulation.
Once the game ended, a penalty shootout was needed to determine the winner. Juan Cuadrado was the first player to miss his shot, but right after the Colombian failed to score, Bahebeck handed the ball to Thibaut Courtois to make it even. Thiago Silva was the next player to have his shot deflected by Courtois, who stepped up and buried his penalty into the upper right hand corner.
Here's what fans and experts had to say about Chelsea's performance during this game.
Hmm, I think Courtois should take penalties before Terry if they ever reach the final again. Oh!No, I didn't. CC: @EhabRostom1

Can't believe Courtois has pulled that off. Saved a penalty and then literally got his stuck in the top corner of the netting. Unreal!

Yayyyy! We won! Great penalty by T-bo! I know it's pre-season but Falcao looked really sharp. #CFC

Falcao has done more tonight than the whole of last season for United.. And it's £200k cheaper.
