To finish Group D with 14 points, well above a team of Ivory Coast's standards (they finished with 10) is no mean feat. It is further testament to the superiority of this Cameroon squad and a stern warning to any teams that lie in the Indomitable Lions' path to the AFCON trophy.
Mali know exactly the dangerous type of opponents have to deal with on Tuesday. With this in mind, you can expect Henryk Kasperczak to come up with a well-drilled Mali squad that will stay defensively compact. The malians mustalso endeavor to convert whatever chances they get during the game, as these will likely be at a premium against the well organized Central African side.
That said, the likes of Bakary Sako, Mohamed Traore, and Modibo Maiga will have to be absolutely on point on 20th. The versatility of Cheick Diabaté, who can play in central midfield as well as further forward, is a weapon the Malians will rely on. If selected for the big showdown, the onus will be on him to supply quality balls or finish himself if the chance arises.
