He scored the winner against Sunderland to help City secure a 3-2 victory. Coincidentally, the victory came on a day when Chelsea lost a fiery London derby against Tottenham Hotspur, conceding five goals in a 5-3 defeat. The three point gap closed as a result. Now, Chelsea and City are level on points, even sharing the same goal difference. City must concentrate on the FA Cup next with Sheffield Wednesday their opponent.
Even without Sergio Aguero and the remainder of their strikers, they are moving along perfectly. Super-sub Lampard might be granted a start in this match. City manager Manuel Pellegrini knows the importance of trophies and will surely target the league and cup double. Sheffield should not cause too much trouble for them.
