For the first time since the 2006/07 season, Chilean goalkeeper Claudio Bravo will play at the Anoeta but not under the colours of Real Sociedad.

In their first match of the year in 2015, Barcelona will play at a difficult venue – Real Sociedad’s ground – where they lost twice in their last two league visits; 3-2 in January 2013 and 3-1 in February 2014.

The visitors will be led by Claudio Bravo who spent eight seasons at the Anoeta before moving to the Camp Nou last summer after impressing during the World Cup with Chile. Gearing up for the game, Bravo told the press:

“It will be very difficult. We cannot give room for anything. If Barca haven't won at La Anoeta in previous years it's because they relaxed in the second half.

“It's not easy to succeed Valdes but they bought me to compete and not sit on the bench. I always want to improve and things have gone well.”

Claudio Bravo’s records:

Eight consecutive clean sheets

Only seven goals conceded in 16 appearances

A ratio of 0.43 goals conceded per match, more than previous record-holder Francisco Liaño (0.47) of Deportivo in 1993/94

At this rate, the Chilean keeper is on course to setting a new record of fewest goals allowed in a single Spanish Primera Division campaign. As of now, Liaño and ex-Barcelona goalkeeper Salvador Sadurni hold the record with 18 goals conceded.

Claudio Bravo’s best saves for Barcelona:

The Catalans possess 38 points from a possible 48. They are sandwiched between league leaders Real Madrid (who are a point ahead with a game in hand) and Atletico Madrid, who are three points behind. Having failed to win a single trophy in 2014, Barcelona are determined to emerge victorious in La Liga come May and Claudio Bravo is confident about that.

“We are always thinking of ourselves and we cannot miss a step. Sooner or later our rivals will slip,” the goalkeeper concluded on this matter.
