Watch on October 9th Mexico hosting one of their CONCACAF foes, no other than Carlo Costly's Honduras in a matchup held in the southern state of Chiapas.

One of CONCACAF's biggest rivalries will be re-edited in this International week when Mexico hosts Honduras. El Tri gets to this match concerned about the poor performance of their strikers, while Los Catrachos will want to reprise their last visit, in which they took the win at the mighty Azteca Stadium for the first time ever.

This will be the third friendly match for Mexico under Miguel Herrera. After their participation in World Cup 2014, "El Piojo" renewed his contract for the next four years, giving him time to prepare his squad for all competitions, including next summer's Gold Cup and Copa America. Knowing he is backed by the FEMEXFUT, Herrera is looking for a better performance from his strikers, especially Oribe Peralta and Javier Orozo. The return of Javier Hernandez to El Tri will surely add some personality to Mexico's attacking crew.

On the other hand, Honduras is living a tough time with their coach Hernán Medford. The Costa Rican boss was not able to qualify Honduras to next year's Gold Cup, and has endured severe criticism from the country's media. Furthermore, Medford hasn't had the time to make his players adapt to his coaching methods, resulting in a very tense situation for the former striker. The match against Mexico may buy him some time to make things right with La Bicolor, and he will surely find Andy Najar's help handy, since he's one of the new hopes for Honduras in the upcoming years.

This rivalry had one of it's most tense moments in 2013. El Tri, then coached by Jose Manuel de la Torre, visited Honduras with their top players. De la Torre's crew earned a two goal lead, but Honduras fought back and rescued a point. Their next meeting took place in historic Azteca Stadium, and Mexico again started the game with a bang, scoring a goal in the first five minutes. Honduras did not give up and managed to turn things around with goals by Jerry Bengston and Carlo Costly. Honduras won in Mexican soil for the first time ever, and after much analysis, Jose Manuel de la Torre was sacked as Mexico's head coach.
