6ter history, coverage, features
6ter is an entertainment television channel in France, owned by Groupe M6.The channel launched in December 2012 as the third entertainment TV offering from Groupe M6, with its name referencing the fact that it is seen as M6’s younger sister.
The channel is available for free via digital terrestrial TV, satellite and DSL, and its programming focuses on family-friendly shows and documentaries.
Live streaming and 6ter catch-up is available via the 6play streaming service, which can be downloaded for free onto iOS and Android devices. This platform houses all programming owned by Groupe M6.
6ter has never focused on sports coverage, but football reports have historically appeared in news bulletins aired on the channel.
All 6ter programming is in French, and the channel can also be watched in Switzerland via a subfeed.
