Über UAE Pro League
UAE Pro League Geschichte, Format, Organisation, Medienberichterstattung
Die UAE Arabian Gulf League ist die höchste Spielklasse in den Vereinigten Arabischen Emiraten. Gegründet im Jahr 1973, begann der Wettbewerb zunächst als UAE Football League, wobei die Saison 1973–74 als Probelauf galt – diese Saison wurde 2001 vom Fußballverband offiziell anerkannt, wodurch Sharjah zum ersten Meister erklärt wurde. Die Meisterschaft war später als UAE Pro League bekannt, bevor sie 2013/14 ihren aktuellen Namen, UAE Arabian Gulf League, annahm.
Die Liga folgt einem doppelten Rundensystem, was bedeutet, dass jedes Team in einer Saison zweimal auf jeden anderen Verein trifft. Sie funktioniert nach einem Auf- und Abstiegssystem, wobei die schlechtesten Mannschaften in die UAE First Division League, die zweite Liga, absteigen.
