VTM 2 History, Coverage, Features
VTM 2 is a Belgian television channel owned and operated by DPG Media. The channel was launched on January 31, 1995, under the name Ka2, but that name would be changed two years later to Kanaal 2. The channel underwent a new rebranding in 2003, when it was renamed as KANAALTWEE, and five years later, the company would rename it as 2BE. That name stuck for eight years, until DPG Media changed it to Q2. The channel’s most recent rebranding came in 2020, when it acquired the name VTM 2.
Over the years, VTM has made a name for itself as a general entertainment channel. TV series, movies, and sports have found their way into the channel’s programming regularly. While some of the shows aired by this network are in-house productions, most of the shows and movies aired on this channel come from the U.S. or other countries.
Speaking about sports, football coverage on VTM to has been fueled by DPG Media’s broadcasting rights. The most notable football competition aired on this channel is none other than the UEFA Champions League, to which VTM 2 has shared broadcasting rights over the years with its sister channel, VTM.
VTM 2 started airing its content in Standard Definition, but a High-Definition feed was introduced during the time when the channel was called 2BE. Downscaled versions of the HD feed might be available for users who have not switched to HD technology.
