About TV3+ Norway
V4 is a Norwegian television channel owned and operated by the Nordic Entertainment Group. The channel was launched in a test phase on September 28, 2007, and it was finally available for everyone to watch on June 14, 2014. The first broadcast in the channel’s history, which was known back then as Viasat 4, featured the UEFA Euro Qualifying match between Moldova and Norway. Six years after its launch, the channel was rebranded to V4 and started working under that name in June 2020.
Over the years, V4 has been labeled as an entertainment channel, with sitcoms, TV series, documentaries, sports, and news broadcasts occupying most of its regular programming. The channel has aired mostly shows produced in the United States and other countries, although in-house productions have also been aired by the channel.
Speaking about sports, V4 has covered top-caliber competitions such as the UEFA Champions League and the FIFA World Cup. In fact, one of the most watched programs in its history was the 3rd place match for the 2010 World Cup between Uruguay and Germany. Other leagues that have been covered on this channel have included the Serie A, the Allsvenskan, and the Danish Superliga.
V4 was launched as a Standard Definition channel, but a High-Definition feed was eventually launched a couple of years after it became available in almost all of Norway. Both feeds may still be available in some regions of the country.
