Trans 7 history, coverage, features
Trans 7 is an Indonesian television channel owned and operated by Trans Media. This channel was launched on November 25, 2001 under the name TV7, but that name would only last for five years, when the channel became known as Trans 7 on December 15, 2006. Another major change for this channel would also come in 2006, when it became the property of Trans Corp.
Over the years, Trans 7 has been known as an entertainment channel, with sports, movies, children’s programming, TV series and special live events being aired on this channel. Most of the content aired by Trans 7 has been produced in-house, but there have been shows produced abroad that have been available to watch on this channel.
Speaking about sports, Trans 7 has included disciplines such as football, MotoGP, badminton, and athletics competitions throughout its history. When it comes to football, Trans 7 has aired games for leagues such as the English Premier League and the Italian Serie A, while also adding matches for the International Champions Cup. To top it all, this channel has also aired FIFA World Cup matches. Additional football matches may come during the channel’s Summer Olympics coverage, as they have done in past editions.
Trans 7 was launched as a Standard Definition channel, but a High-Definition feed was launched to give users a fuller experience. While the HD option became the primary alternative to watch the channel, a downscaled version of Trans 7 was made available for users who do not have access to HD technology.
